Thank You

As we approach a month since our Open Day, we are still thrilled with the attendance and support we received on the day. From live music to delicious food, we had the best time and hope you did too! If you didn't get the chance to pop by or forgot to pick up that card from a supplier on the day, we have collated a list below of all those who attended, along with some of our favourite moments. Check out our reel on Instagram, capturing snippets of the excitement.

Hosting our Open Day in Spring this year was a little later than usual for us, however, we certainly had our reasons. With venue enhancements and refurbishments popping up across The Old Mill, we wanted to ensure we squeezed as much in before we opened our doors for you. Our conservatory was the most notable makeover, having changed colours and decor installation. Although, we have continued to embark on improvements since the Open Day and have now upgraded the flooring in our Mill Room, whilst landscapers are making the finishing touches to various spaces across our grounds.

Who attended your Open Day?

Decor

Aisle Decor ~ The Wed Shed

The Wed Shed displayed an array of their decor across the venue, helping attendees visualise the spaces both inside and outside of The Old Mill. Choosing to enhance the spaces from table decor to ceremony ideas, Evie chose to exhibit a handful of her items and brought life to our wedding breakfast tables with a pink and purple theme, incorporating disco balls throughout - amazing!

Entertainment

DJ Edd Arlott set up in the Conservatory at The Old Mill Aldermaston

DJ Edd Arlott exhibited his evening set up, alongside his light up 'LOVE' letters - that extra something to add to your evening reception. Chatting through all things music and evening entertainment, Edd is an experienced DJ at The Old Mill and never fails to get the dance floor rocking!

Love Snap Photo Booths are the new supplier in town! Capturing those fun, quirky and lively elements of your wedding, ranging from still images to 360º videos - they brought energy to our Open Day. With props available too, we saw lots of you having fun with Reece's Magic Mirror and 360º Video Booth.

Emily Spink Sings performed outside on our patio area. Emily specialises in singing live at weddings and has become a loved part of The Old Mill.

We had the pleasure of having more live music at the Open Day. Richard Sully, a very experienced pianist was exhibiting in our Mill Room. With an abundance of music choices to choose from, Richard is an excellent live performer and provided tranquil sounds and background music for our guests to enjoy.

Finally, for entertainment purposes, Distant Thunder attended to talk with our couples about their firework displays. Having provide fireworks for many of our couples over the years and to end your celebrations with a 'BANG', they were thrilled to share their advice and services with everyone.

Catering

We had the pleasure of our partnered catering companies here to chat with couples about wedding food options. From canapes to pizza, they pulled out the stops to keep us all sweet.

Chefs, Darren and Luke, from Foster's Catering chose to prepare freshly made, stone-baked pizzas for our guests to enjoy; working hard to satisfy your tasted buds. Whilst Kirsty talked through the variety of menu options they have available for weddings and their bespoke take for each couple.

The Gentleman Smoker

On the other side of our forecourt, we had The Gentleman Smoker. James' passion for his slow-cooking process using his impressive smoker made many people happy at the Open Day with his tasters available to try. With a similar take on a bespoke line of menus, James is always keen to hear about your wedding day and the food he can provide for your guests.

Also found within our supplier marquee was James' good friend and business partner for their new company, James. Using our Open Day as the perfect opportunity to launch Thyme, Garlic and Sage. Thyme, Garlic and Sage is a new avenue for the pair, stepping into the world of fine dining. Their canapés certainly pleased the palettes of our attendees and the Open Day offered them the chance to exhibit this journey. If you're passionate about your wedding breakfast and have always dreamt of fine dining at your wedding, make sure to discuss these details with Thyme, Garlic and Sage.

Alongside our busy marquee filled with suppliers were The Little Kitchen Company. Event Manager, Daniel, was there to chat through all things food. Having been a partnered catering company with The Old Mill for almost three years now, they continue to hold the same values us - to make your wedding day the best it can be, including the tasty food you select.

Make sure to get in touch with each of the caterers to receive their menus, information, availability and details about weddings at The Old Mill.

Photography and Videography

Joe Mallen Photography, a long-standing most loved supplier of The Old Mill was here exhibiting his talent. Joe has been photographing weddings at The Old Mill for a long time and has therefore, seen many changes across the venue. He's forever finding new locations and ways to capture the beauty with our couples.

Charlie Bluck Weddings doubles up with both talents of photography and videography and has a plethora of experience in weddings at The Old Mill.

In the style of capturing and savouring those elements from your weddings, Ali from Reel Love was here to shed light on a new sector in weddings - content creation. Taking an alternative approach and grasping those hidden, behind-the-scenes moments.

Marquee Hire

Keeping our suppliers warm and away from those strong winds, experienced over the weekend of the Open Day, LEX Marquee Hire provided a pagoda - one of the many marquees they have available for weddings and events. Whether you are looking for an additional area for your guests away from the sun/rain; or you want to take your evening reception outside, without depending on the weather to offer this; or even provide a wedding breakfast of dreams amongst the beauty of The Old Mill, LEX are skilled in this area and can help your dreams come true.

Wedding Cars

Displayed on our forecourt upon arrival, we were fortunate to have three different wedding cars exhibited for take a look at.

Roger from RS Wedding Cars was proud to present his Bentley Flying Spur, originally owned by royalty.

We were also lucky to have Christopher Wedding Cars join us again with their classic and vintage style wedding cars.

Bridal Beauty

In the sector of beautifying our brides, from hair and makeup to THE dress itself.

White Rose Bridal Rooms had a display of dresses available for viewing and Sophie was there to chat through all things wedding dresses. With other bridal party dresses available to see, it wasn't just an opportunity tailored for our brides, Mum's were incorporated too!

Despite their absence for various reasons, we missed Hair Design and Makeup by Michelle and the Bridal Beauty Cove - but make sure to check them out for all your beautifying needs!

Floristry

Sonning Flowers pulled out the stops again! With flower arrangements available to see and discuss with the team, their committed and long-standing relationship with The Old Mill continues. From bouquets to table decor and even arches, they are most certainly a team you can trust with your floral ideas.

Wedding Cakes

Finally, those keeping us all sweet (literally) and supplying us with tasters and treats from their stalls was Vicky from Fabu-lous Cakes and Jess from Bakes and Bouquets.
